Soham was born in Kolkata, India and grew up in Philadelphia and South Jersey since age 5. He went to Wake Forest University in North Carolina to earn a bachelors in Physics. After graduating, Soham traveled to Germany on a Fulbright Scholarship to work in an Inorganic Chemistry lab. He currently splits his time between Columbia and Brookhaven National Lab, transitioning to a project involving the imaging of local disorder and heterogeneity in strongly correlated materials. His hobbies are limited to basketball, motown, lamb over rice, beards, and research.
