Chenyang currently works as a research scientist at AbbVie, a research-based biopharmaceutical company, in North Chicago. While in the group, he studied local structure and lattice dynamics of CdSe nanoclusters using combined atomic pair distribution function and inelastic x-ray scattering techniques coupled with DFT and MD simulation. He has been a loyal Bayern Munich and German International fan since 1996, and a language enthusiast; having worked as a German translator at Shanghai Maglev Transportation Development Co. and as a Japanese escort interpreter in Nissan China.
